Is there a sustainable way to harvest White Sage in the wild?

When you come upon a plant in the wild and pass it by as it is suggested that you go deeper into your hike. Once you encounter the 10th plant, we recommend cutting just above the leaf nodes and taking less than 10% of the upper portions of the plant.

Why are you not asking for money in exchange for the bundles?

Sage Spirit Farm honors the original people who lived on this land who were generous to share the knowledge of the plant with us. The indigenous people did not commercialize this medicine. White Sage was given away freely since Mother Earth along with Sun, Rain, and Wind freely gave it to us. We aim to revive this mode of exchange.

What is smudging and why do people do it? 

Smudging, saging, or smoking the dried leaves and/or bundles can very quickly clear spaces and people holding onto heavy energy. Clearing provides a canvas for clarity and inner healing.

How can I protect the medicine? 

Thank you for asking! We recommend the following: If you live in the growth zone, grow your own and share it, take only what you need from the wild, give it away, and work with it in prayer.
